See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

I am in the ‘collage of whatever fandom i happen to like right now, along with life stuff and fiery opinions’ camp when it comes to what kind of tumblr blog this is.

I do art and write fanfiction! My art tag is nightfalcon arts and the occasional time I do promote my fanfics/join in writing games it’ll be nightfalcon writes and for when i’m complaining at an unholy hour in the morning, it’s writing liveblog

I don’t really have a DNI (except for the usual - no TERFs, racists, homophobes, transphobes, alt-right [how are you here on tumblr], anti-Semite, Islamaphobes, you know the drill) the exception to this can be found in my about me page. My only age restriction is that if you’re not in high school yet…please get off tumblr. Basically, trust your gut instinct! If my vibes don’t feel right to you, don’t follow me!

I tag triggers and squicks as either tw: _____, cw: ______, or with just the word. You can reach out to me privately if there’s something that managed to slip through the blacklist.

I do occasionally reblog discussions or stories about sex/adult things, proceed with caution. I do not make it the focus of my blog, but I do have such content here, so blacklist ‘nsfw’ and ‘ish’ if you are underage/uncomfortable with such topics.

Queer is not a slur to me. I tag all queer things with lgbt, lgbt+, lgbtq, and lgbtq+ because that’s how I tagged it when I first came onto tumblr and so that I don’t accidentally step on someone’s toes, but I will discuss queer topics as well, queer.

Pinned Post nightfalcon posts about the blog no need to reblog this is just going to be pinned obviously don't be a bigot if you follow me but in case that's not clear in the first place i'm making sure you're not welcome here

Anonymous asked:

I don't know how familiar you are with bnha and I can't remember who it was that called Zuko a "true hero" (it might have been you, actually) but I was thinking about that a few days ago and Zuko, in my opinion, is what a hero should be--selfless and does whatever is possible to protect others from harm--compared to Aang. I would describe him as a typical hero in bnha--basically a celebrity hoping for recognition and reap the benefits while only doing the bare minimum for their job

the-badger-mole answered:

I’m not super familiar with that show, but I’ll add it to my list of things to watch when I can focus on things again. But I totally agree, and not only is Zuko selfless and kind, but he also actually learns and grows from his mistakes. The narrative doesn’t give him shortcuts, so in the end, it’s way more satisfying to see him become Fire Lord than it is to see Aang get all these undeserved accolades.

reblog aang salt when i tell you that i would've spat out my water upon seeing this believe me unrelated but i just drew midoriya and aang in the same drawing kfljadskljfa i should've chosen zuko XD anyways anon is right in that if aang was in bnha he would be the latter type of hero

Matilda (1996) dir. Danny DeVito

As others have noted in the past, Danny DeVito not only directed Matilda (and played her dad), but he and Rhea Perlman (DeVito’s wife at the time and Matilda’s mum in the movie) basically looked after Mara Wilson because Mara’s mother was in hospital with terminal cancer at the time of filming (She died during post production work, and it wasn’t until years later Mara discovered that Danny had taken an advanced (not quite completed) copy of “Matilda” to the hospital so that her mum could watch it before she passed.)

When Mara mentioned that she was feeling nervous about the dancing to “Little Bitty Pretty One” sequence, it was DeVito’s idea to have the ENTIRE cast and crew join in and dance too (off camera) so she wouldn’t feel self-conscious, apaprently even the craft services folks joined in, and the cameraman shooting the scene did a bit of a shuffle, but not too much because it would mess with the camera shot)

I saw something that pointed out that the water dome Katara creates when she confronts Yon Rha in "The Southern Raiders," right after she stops the rain, is reminiscent of an igloo.

Which is something I definitely think is significant, but I have to disagree with the post that said it showed Katara's caring and nurturing for her friends.

Although this scene does have to do with Katara's connection to her mother, it's not her nurturing side which is on display here but her rage at her mother's murder, and confronting Yon Rha with what he did to her and her family.

I pointed out before how this scene mirrors the flashback to Kya's murder, with Yon Rha in Kya's position, Katara in the position that Yon Rha was in before (as the person who has the power in the scene) and Zuko watching it all in the position Katara was in as a child, as a passive observer.

Katara creating an igloo out of water here is not supposed to represent nurturing, but recreating the scene of Kya's murder in her family igloo, with her child watching.

It's a great example of taking an image that is established to represent one thing and reversing the meaning. Katara does frequently do the same move in a protective way, to shield herself and her friends from the rain. But here she's encasing all three of them, herself, Yon Rha, and Zuko, in her recreation of the past. Her stopping the rain shows how this trauma has rooted her to this moment. It's almost as if she's transported all three of them back in time. And the fact that this symbol usually represents protection and family highlights how what happened tore apart Katara's family.

She then turns this rage into something deadly, but lets it dissipate when she makes the choice not to kill.

By doing this, Katara frees herself from the past.
